Our Ripple Story

Mark Cumins and Jerry Scheer

Ripple was founded by Jerry Scheer, co-owner of Homegrown Hospitality Group.

Jerry started Homegrown in 1985 with his lifelong friend and business partner, Mark Cumins, of blessed memory. Together, they grew the company into more than 25 restaurants across Georgia and the Carolinas.

Their work was guided by a simple belief:

“To give is to receive.”

Ripple was created to carry that belief forward.

How Ripple Works

Ripple angel invests in local entrepreneurs, helping them launch and grow businesses that create jobs and bring new energy into the community.

As those businesses grow, a portion of their success is shared forward through The Ripple Fund to help local nonprofits meet critical needs across the Lowcountry.
